How to Make Healthy Paninis

Just because they’re usually stuffed full of meat and cheese doesn’t mean you can’t grill yourself up something healthy on your panini maker. Healthy filling ideas for your paninis that are full of flavor, nutrition, and lower calorie than meat and cheese, are not actually all that hard to come by. Eggplant slices, olives, artichoke hearts, zucchini slices, onions, red pepper strips, asparagus, fresh garlic slices, tomatoes, and kale all make great vegetable fillings for paninis. Of course, then you need some kind of spread, and something like tomato sauce, Italian dressing, hummus, or any spread from your grocery stores cooler section makes a great option. It’s fun to mix and match and play with some creative ideas to make healthy comfort food.
