Dyspnea and chest pain are usually present, but these commonly result from the almost universally present rib fractures and do not aid in recognizing rupture of the aorta. A hemothorax, with varying degrees of shock, is also frequent, but again such findings frequently arise from rib fractures and pulmonary lacerations which do not involve the aorta. A murmur has been present in only a few patients. Rarely, signs of acute obstruction of the aorta, apparently from prolapse of a segment of intima with obstruction of the lumen, have occurred, with weak or absent femoral pulses and even acute paraplegia.ICD-10 Training makes you spend more time with patients and increase the quality of the care.
