Panic attack disorders can happen at totally unexpected situations, and it might sometimes mislead us into a conclusion of the individual facing a heart failure. A panic attack can happen at any time, any place and at any age. They vary in the character and are hence categorized as situational predisposed, spontaneous and cued panic attacks. Knowing the situation in detail can help a lot in managing the panic attacks in reality.

Causation

The reason for panic attack is simply fear. Fear can arise from a particular happening, physical being or from imagination even. The fear triggers the mind and the body of the individual to fight back and results in conditions such as anxiety or depression which often is followed by panic attacks. The Symptoms

Person’s heart and pulse rate increases dramatically.
Chest pain, nausea, sweating, shaking, dizziness etc.
Feeling of choking and difficulty in breathing.
Loss of control and fear of death.

There are various established treatment methods in managing panic attacks.

Exposure Therapy – In this approach, the patient is exposed to situations, surrounding or atmospheres where he or she might usually get panic attacks, but under a controlled situation. In this way the individual gets familiarized with the surroundings to face tem in reality without fear.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy – This is more of a psychological approach. The patient works very close with the consultant to work out on taking the negative thoughts out of him or her.
Relaxation Techniques – A sound mind is only possible within a sound body. This seems true with all disorders and panic attacks are no exception. Meditation, yoga and deep breathing techniques combined together and practiced on a regular basis seem to be an effective approach in managing panic attacks.
Proper Diet and Nutrition – Nutritional factors cannot be considered as a whole panic attack remedy. Instead can be included in a combination of various approaches. Nutritional factors play the role of a ‘combined effect’ in alleviating the panic attack disorders.
