Auto Insurance Prices

There are a number of factors that contribute to the price of auto insurance. Prices will vary from company to company. Its best to compare prices before you pay for a policy. The initial factor that may affect your policy’s price is the model of the car you drive. For example a jazzy sports car will cost you more than a family car. If your car is in the “high theft” category your coverage may be more expensive. Secondly where you live will affect your auto insurance cost. If you live in a high crime area or an accident prone area, your insurance coverage will cost more.

More cars are smashed in urban areas than in rural areas, so chances are you will pay more insurance if you live in a city district. Do you drive your vehicle often or seldom? This will also affect your insurance cost. The logic is that the more a person drives the more chances they have to be in an accident. Drivers who may commute long distances to their employment will pay more than an individual who lives closer to their workplace. However, if you only use your car two days a week your insurance rates should be less than someone who drives five days a week. Last but not least “who you are” will also effect your insurance cost. How old you are, your sex, marital status and driving history are all considered when you purchase insurance coverage. Statistic show that accidents are higher for those under the age of 25.

If you are this age and younger you can expect to pay more. Additionally, accident statistics for young male drives and single males are higher. If a twenty year old single male needs insurance coverage his rates will be higher too. If you have a clean driving record, your insurance rate will be lower more so than those with many traffic violations. While insurance for young men is expensive, car insurance for women is the opposite, often offering great rates.
