Kefalonia, a beautiful Greek island
March 28, 2011 5:42 am Travel and LeisureThe town of Argostoli is the capital of Kefalonia and the port of Argostoli is a relatively large commercial marina / with a natural harbor. There is a cruise terminal in the port, so it is very busy summer for vacation. Tourists can visit the sandy beaches and explore the magnificent scenery. There are beautiful hotels and hotel complex. There are cultural monuments from the Roman period, Byzantine and Venetian. Some of them were however lost in the earthquake of 1953 which devastated the region and others had already been lost in the Second World War, when the port was bombed by the Germans. It’s a Greece Travel destination that I recommend.
